So last night I watched The Incredible Hulk, a movie that I was not really looking forward to watching. I mean, I figured that since I had seen the Eric Bana version (you always relate the superhero movie by the actors playing the lead role) and thouroughly enjoyed it, why watch what I felt was Marvel’s bleek attempt at salvation?
So I did what any red blooded American does when they don’t want to drop $10.50 to watch a movie in the theaters, something else. But alas, I was surprised… I really enjoyed The Incredible Hulk! In fact, I was so thrilled with the movie, that I wanted to write about the contrasts of the roles shared between the two movies, but first, the story… Read the rest of this entry »

The Metal Gear franchise was AMAZING. I use the term “was” in the event that should mark Metal Gear Solid 4 as the final of the series.
How can you keep such a hit going? Easy, Online Play.
And in a world where console online shooters are run by Halo and Call of Duty, it shouldn’t be too hard to achieve such a goal. However, there’s just one issue, Metal Gear does not translate well for online play.
Granted, it’s fun and interesting to be in the middle of a Deathmatch while having to hunt down gamers playing a Snake, but the game modes aren’t enough to save Metal Gear Online.
The control scheme for Metal Gear Solid (2, 3 and 4) are amazing, and fit perfect for the single player espionage/action game. However, throw those meticulous controls into the hectic online frey and you’re left with gamers fumbling their thumbs and missing their shots in attempts to “BOOM HEAD SHOT” and grapple an opponent via CQC (Close Quarters Combat).
As console games go, developers love to release new stuff thanks to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. This will hopefully allow Konami to add a couple of new features to the game to keep it fresh and prevent the daunting controls from completely ruining the game.

Everybody lies!
Thanks to Super Bowl XLII, I’ve been interested to Dr. Gregory House.
The cold, sarcastic Vicodin addicted diagnostician - whom is also quite brilliant.
The characters are quite likeable and the humor is just fantastic. It’s very rare for me to get hooked on a TV show. Lost, Battlestar Galactica and The Office are literally the 3 that I can watch over and over. Oh ya, and FireFly.
And now enter Greg House. I’m just about to finish Season 3, and I believe Season 4 is on replay on TV, so I’ll start recording that so I can get all caught up!

So ends another fun and exciting hockey season! Let’s re-cap some of the good, the bad and the ugly!
Absolute Zero (EEEE) Defense
I played my first season outside of the crease, and I’ll be god damned if it’s not a lot of work.
I had some good times, and some bad times. I finished the season with 2 goals and 2 assists, which isn’t too bad for stopping the puck for 14 years.
The team itself started off amazing. We dominated teams and quickly shot up to first place. However, we hit a funk and slowly dropped down to third.
However, in a late burst we climbed back up to second where we finished the season.
Playoffs weren’t too kind to us. The entire team played GREAT, however luck just didn’t go our way and we lost in the first game.
Wrapping it up, it was a great learning experience personally and I can only look forward to the future!
SubZero (DDD) Goalie
Ah yes, SubZero. What can I say? We dominated every team league, losing only 5 games in a 22 game season. Most of those losses where to the cock sucking Phase Matrix.
Personally, it was a pretty bad season statistically speaking. Although I won a ton of games, my GAA was pretty high for facing the least amount of shots of all active goalies in the league. I finished dead last amongst active goalies for DDD.
Oh well, there’s always next season.
Beerhawks (D) Goalie
This team is my pride and joy. With the exception of the Conference Finals for SubZero against the Phase Matrix, I feel that I play my best hockey with the Beerhawks.
While my numbers weren’t the greatest either, I feel good when I play for the Beerhawks.
Unfortunately we got swept in the Championship. We had a good run and will hopefully ride the momentum into next season.
All in all, by the time next season starts I should be 100% for all 3 teams, ready to rock the Casbah and reclaim my place as an elite goaltender.
